alias Peter Kaye
Being in radio, Pete has always had numerous personas. When Oakenwood was created, Peter Kaye was his favorite.

Scott Block (center)

alias B. Stefen Allen
Since Scott discovered his love of writing, he has always used the pen name B. Stefen Allen.

Phil Oslund (right)

alias Phil Oslund
Phil just uses his name except on the occasion he uses POE. Oslund, Allen, Kaye... OAK. Hence our name.

Common Influence

Welcome to the newly redesigned Oakenwood.com!

The three members of Oakenwood shared a common influence by way of a Creative Writing class during their sophomore year of high school, led by Ms. Patti Prince. To give you an idea of the classroom environment, the cover artwork of the Grateful Dead's "Blues For Allah" album was reproduced on the wall as a mural and a powerful duotone print of Jim Morrison hung near the door. We were encouraged to color outside the lines, to look at the world with a critical yet accepting eye and express it with pen and paper (today, sometimes, but mostly a word processor).

Phil Oslund

The “musician” of the group, Phil plays guitar, mandolin and piano. He also does the MIDI sequencing used in the recordings. Phil fancies himself a writer, concentrating on poetry and lyrics, though several books are planned. Phil's creativity also spills over into photography and digital art.

Scott Block

The “photographer” of the group (although all three have made a living in photography), Scott has the best “eye” of the three. Scott is also the writer of the group having completed one novel with several more in the works; Scott is also a prolific poet.

Pete Nyblom

The “face” and “voice” of the group, Pete is a natural being a radio personality. He is actually much more than that, but it would take up too much space explaining. Also a poet and photographer, Pete has many creative outlets, some of which he shares with the group.
