The group got their start in the late 70s when Scott and Phil first met. Of course, it was the mutual goal of chatting up a couple of girls that brought them together. Pete was thrown into the mix the next year. It really wasn't until the three had the same Creative Writing class that the bond would form which would lead to the creation of Oakenwood. Officially formed in 1988, the group is still strong and friendship endures. To find out more about the individual members, click on his name below.
Phil Oslund
The “musician” of the group, Phil plays guitar, mandolin and piano. He also does the MIDI sequencing used in the recordings. Phil fancies himself a writer, concentrating on poetry and lyrics, though several books are planned. Phil's creativity also spills over into photography and digital art.
Scott Block
The “photographer” of the group (although all three have made a living in photography), Scott has the best “eye” of the three. Scott is also the writer of the group having completed one novel with several more in the works; Scott is also a prolific poet.
Pete Nyblom
The “face” and “voice” of the group, Pete is a natural being a radio personality. He is actually much more than that, but it would take up too much space explaining. Also a poet and photographer, Pete has many creative outlets, some of which he shares with the group.
